A Learned Behavior

One of my great friends offered me the opportunity to design some preliminary character sketches for a short cartoon series she was pitching to G4tv. It was based on a sketch comedy skit that she had performed on her show. Here our my designs and if you go to the G4 website you can see the actual designs and show they came up with... "Slasher School".

It was fun to be a part of my friend's thinking process.

Dragon part

Here's three images from the dragon part of my short. Promise I'm working on it. I'm just really slow- I'm working on that too.

Digging up old drawings

So cleaning out my office I found some old sketches I did when I think I was a bit stressed out. I have a couple here of my wife - we were planning our wedding and I had thought of a couple strips to write about that, but never actual drew them. So this was my attempt at figuring out how I would draw us.
But also I was getting pretty sick of getting sick at the time. I have Crohn's and I remember at this point it really felt it ran my life. So here are just a couple drawings of my stomach as a monster with spikes that can grow bigger and smaller depending on the level of pain. I don't picture my stomach as a scary monster, I think he can be cute, but just a big baby loves to throw fits at the most inopportune times.

Because you asked... Album cover

So my uncle is distributing his own CD from his site this Holiday Season. www.scottkreitzermusic.com He asking me to design the artwork for the album. So this is what the finished product should look like.

This was an initial draft I had submitted - this is just too see how the direction changed just a little with the desire for more photographs etc.

Wedding Art

It all started when I was unemployed and broke and I didn't have the funds to buy my friend anything on her registry. Instead I made a Warhol print of her and her husband to be. Suddenly it was a thing as my friends got married they all demanded art. So I've continued to duplicate pop art added a personal twist incorporating the couple. Even when my brother got married he demanded something to hang on his wall- so I threw them into a vintage cowboy poster.

It has been fun to study the works of great artists I admire and make a weak attempt to duplicate their style. My next task will be to create my own signature style. But actually I can't wait for the day I get to buy a toaster like everyone else.

Because you asked..,

This is just a bunch of freelance stuff- from banners to logos - a DVD cover. Basically I've been asked to do a lot of random design work here and there- thought I would add it.
